Prisons are places from which mentally ill people return even more dangerous than when they entered them.
If prisons don’t exist, how are people entering and returning from them?
Other than managing to bite your own arse, you (surprisingly) make a valid point: there are plenty of places in the world where prison reform is desperately needed. But that’s completely irrelevant to your stance that prisons may not exist.
