Since most people seem not to believe this is UAP thing is really aliens, it seems like a terrible distraction.
It's an all angle push. 65% of americans believe in aliens, btw. Four in ten believe that ufos reported and investigated by the military are probably good evidence for intelligent visitation. One in ten think they definitely are.
It's been a damned good distraction, going on seventy some odd years now. It's also a great way to hide money and tech in plain sight and just generally fuck around on the taxpayer dime if you're a legislator. I wonder how many central american warlords our alien research™ money has murdered over the course of those seven decades?
