American Dems detest him for his hamstringing Biden's agenda. Manchin as a result would likely pull independents leaning Trump but distrustful of him.
He's as much a democrat as someone can be and still get re-elected senator in West Virginia. He votes with the majority of Democrats on about 75% of issues and that's about as good as we're gonna get from that state for the present.
