My girlfriend is a Christian, but has no intentions to convert me.
She did tell me though, that growing up she was looking for a nice Christian man and raise a Christian family.
Now that we are both 20, she realizes what true love is. It's not God or Religion.
I asked her why she believed in her religion and God, and she said because she is scared of the unknown and death, and that believing in God and heaven is comforting. She got very emotional, when she asked me what I believe happens when we die, and I said we turn to dust and we feel and think nothing, just like before we were born.
She even said that when raising our kids, she will bring them to church, and let them see what Christianity is about, but she said that we will also sit them down, because she is a strong believer in individual rights, and wants our kids to be whatever they want to, and we will love them no matter if they are atheist, gay, have a mental illness, or anything that would make them "different".
