There were all sort of those who were considered "prophets" whose advice was dismissed.
For example Amos. They were discussing / arguing about establishing a kingdom, to assist in having a central leader in fights with neighbors.
They decided to do it, even though opposed by Amos. "Fallen is the virgin Israel, never to rise again", etc. They did not always accept a prophesy
as mandatory or required, (or obviously as from a god).
