One would think that when Ezekiel imagined that God spoke to him (‘the word of the Lord’), he was making a claim of divine origin.

God speaks to me too, Boru, and I'm a fucking atheist.  Some of us are just good at word. We know that the authors of those texts used that language about the same way I do, fwiw. It;s a booster, it;s a goose, it's shorthand to the audience.
