Decline of Christianity (in England)
#11
RE: Decline of Christianity (in England)
I understanding the C of E has been suffering from diminishing numbers for decades.Even Dawn French has been unable to help, with her wonderful parish of halfwits, misanthropes and sexual deviates.(Dibley)Tiger

Here in Oz, a full 8% of our population claims to attend church regularly.

Quote: I have been thinking a lot recently about why countries and or cultures leave their faith. It seems that the ones that keep their faith the longest have historically had a less oppressive form of that religion.

What do you'all think?

Mmmm,no.

Look at the religious history of say the Dutch, the Danes, and the Swedes. Yet today they are among the most secular nations. I'm convinced there is a direct link between secularism to affluence and education.

It seems to me that the greater the depth of dogmatic fundamentalism, the greater the depth of poverty and ignorance.
