His own VP nominee, JD Vance, is a former Marine. I must confess that it escapes me how any veteran would see fit to serve this man in any circumstance. I wouldn't piss on Trump if he were on fire after how he's spoke so ill of my fellow vets.

Nor, as he's now sold out his fellow veterans himself, Vance, for that matter.

Vance isn't really a veteran, he got one of those cushy jobs reserved for rich kids too stupid to get into officer school and too unruly to stay from out in front of a judge pleading guilty.  Despite being deployed to Iraq, his "journalist" job never saw him leaving the green zone.

I didn't go to college till I was in my 50s.  I was not eligible to become an officer when I was in the service in my 20s.  I hadn't even been in ROTC in high school.  But I am a veteran.

Rules may be different in other countries but being an officer or not isn't a requirement for veteran status.  I have a DD214 that says I served in the US military...that makes me a veteran.  **edited to add - and honorably discharged.
