October 27, 1944. The remains of the 141st infantry regiment has been surrounded by german forces on hill 617. 275 soldiers, all of them now dead or wounded. Multiple attempts to extricate the unit have failed, they are being kept alive through supplies delivered by p47's doing dive bomb drops to evade german aa. Below them, the 442nd infantry regiment is assembling. They are the most decorated unit of ww2 of their size. They are almost entirely comprised of Nisei. Their families back home have been interred. Their progress in training and accomplishments in combat have been systematically denied and covered up, to the point of ordering them to halt their progress in italy, at the actual gates of rome...so it wouldn't be known that the us soldiers who took and occupied the first major european city of ww2 were non-white. Another unit walked past them, into the city, and the history books.

October 29, dawn. Screaming bonzai, the 442 launched a frontal assault uphill in broad daylight. It turned into hand to hand combat. They suffered 800 casualties in order to rescue 200 of their fellow infantrymen. Their motto? Go for broke. Back home, much, and not much nice, was said about japanese american soldiers...and here's a letter to the editor from some white soldiers, about all that..

"We are Iowa boys of the 34th Division, and have fought side by side with the boys of Japanese
descent...We know plenty of folks that call themselves Americans that have done much less to
prove they give a hang about their country. There have been times when these Japanese, as you
call them, have saved many lives, only because they have proven themselves better Americans
than some that were not of Japanese descent."

US infantry forces are the most loyal and lethal fighting machine the world has ever seen, and it is not now nor has it ever been on the backs of fancy gadgets and hitech toys, but upon an indomatible and distinctly american spirit which respects no racial or genetic boundaries. After the war, many interviews were taken from the supposed master race's surviving soldiers in the areas worked by the 442nd. They recalled a factory line of destruction. On hill 617, at least 50 germans were killed, 7 captured, with another hundred bodies that may or may not have died fighting over that 48hr period counted. The rest limped off to die another day. In the hurtzgen forest ao, overall, they suffered 28k casualties. Japanese americans and japanese culture would, ofc, go on to bring us nintendos and anime and damned good barbecue. Lean manufacturing, and who knows how many badass movies about samurai, the last of which, being Tom Fucking Cruise, or so I hear. Contributions to the us (and the world) in the sciences and humanities by japanese americans are too numerous to list, and even if you could, would only be a fraction of their true contribution.

Just things to think about whenever some slack jawed inbred racist pigfucker wants to talk about the lesser peoples. About their blood. About their soil. About their loyalty to the american idea. I don't want to hear any goddamned grumbling when they find themselves interred in concentration camps they built for brown people by brown people with that blue cord on their shoulders.
