Imam sexually abused girls in mosque
The Muslim cleric was handed a 10 year sentence at Canterbury County Court on Friday after being convicted of the child sex offences, which he denied.
The court heard that he singled out his victims for “extra attention” by hugging them, touching them under clothing and kissing them on the lips and neck.
One recalled Mohammad telling her he was helping them to physically “develop” when he groped their chest.
Another said he would hug “too tight” and put his hand “all the way up” their clothing.
Tanya Robinson, prosecuting, told a previous hearing that a victim said they “felt uncomfortable but didn’t realise at first it was wrong”.
“They said the defendant was friendly, gave too many hugs and kisses, and spoke of being called one by one into the kitchen and given kisses because, they said, the kitchen has no camera,” she said.
“They said they didn’t tell their parents because they didn’t know it was wrong and didn’t feel the need to tell their parents because they trusted him.”
He was charged with 17 counts of child sexual assault against four different girls dating back to 2014.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
