Perhaps this is the reason for all the "Catholics come home" commercials I've been seeing on TV lately. I think they know that their numbers are dwindling so are trying to recruit lapsed Catholics to come back to church.
Rapture Ready. If you read their forum, and especially the forum rules, one of their rules is that faith alone gets you to heaven, and works alone is not enough to get you to heaven, and they way they talk there that it's almost blasphemy to suggest that Christians should also do good works.
I've mentioned this before, but the few times I've been to church lately I've noticed that there are very few 18-30 year olds attending Catholic mass. I think we're going to see an even bigger decline in church attendance over the next 10-20 years as the older members die off and the younger ones don't bother attending. Of course I think this goes hand-in-hand with the fact that the younger generation is less religious than any other generation.

Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.
