I think that you can be selective about who you joke with. There are plenty of Christian's who realize that we are in fact not Satan worshippers. Remember that a lot of this takes place on the internet where people troll others just for simple pleasure of it all. There are certain people who I would never joke around with etc and part of the reason I come to this forum is so I can vent and satire brutally without having my name attached to what I say.
Overall if you don't joke about worshipping Satan by the Christian definition you are since you are not worshipping Jesus. There really is no way to win in the end with fundamentalist ideals. To serve self, according to Christianity, or anything other than God is to serve Satan. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
I think a bit of common sense is always in order when choosing who to joke with. On this forum though... this place is a playground for people to come and vent their frustrations. People who come in here have to be willing to put up with all the sand throwing and shoving
I also don't know if fundamentalism is necessarily on the rise either but maybe the decline. I mean.... think of how "liberal" Christianity is continuing to get. I long for a day when any Christian is still here is a Universalist...... which would mean it just simply doesn't matter anymore.
