Quote:Then the same questions and burden apply to you. Establish that any belief limits intellectual capacity.First off, there is no burden on me. Ha ha.
Also having silly beliefs can hold you back. Like creationists, they gladly ignore all the evidence we have for an old earth, they challenge the hard facts with nothing. They spread misconceptions about evolution, atheism and science. They will not accept something that contradicts what they want to be true. They have limited themselves to a small black box. Never seeing anything outside of it. Not all theists would ignore hard facts but most do.
I always stick to Occam's Razer. I always stick to evidence. If you cannot provide any for your god, it will be ruled out.
Quote:Then they come up with just as unprovable a solution as we had with the variables, because not everything is yet accounted for. What's wrong with sticking to - I don't know?
We don't know where all this came from and so that is the truth. The answer to the big question is - ?
Theists assert that X is responsible and I'm asking for evidence for X. A does not prove B without first proving A. Until then, it's ruled out.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
