We are able to understand the universe. Also why can't there be more to the universe than us? And of course religion doesn't support such ideas. They want to feel important. We'll we're not. You're so self important. So self centred. You won't even consider the possibility that we're just biological specks. The universe is really fucking huge and it contains billions of billions of stars, planets and galaxies, and you think we are the purpose of it? That is arrogance.
Our search will not be futile. We won't put down our tools and stop exploring just because religion says so. In years time, probes will be sent to these planets and we will know what's on them whether religion likes it or not.

The problem is that with billions of dollars spent on exploration of the space, scientists have not found anything. Why spend so much when they can simply look up for the answers in the Holy Book.
