Chemistry and physics are complex.
If they weren't, we could not possibly exist in our present forms and contemplate our own existence.
It will take us a long time to investigate the origins of such repeating sequences like nucleic acids and polymers, because while it does all boil down to chemistry, it still doesn't tell us under what precise conditions life started and how to go about replicating the experiment under laboratory conditions, and that's not taking into account how much bloody time religion and mindless worship has already wasted.
