-A conscious creatures thinks that conscious life has more value because it is conscious. Not surprising. It all flows from this too doesn't it?
The nature of true life....for fucks sake.....I say the nature of true life is carbon, ergo all rights must be derived from it (or consideration of it), and all creatures that possess it must be afforded these rights.
You have made a value judgment, and as I;ve said, that's fine, it works for you. You're going to have a much harder time establishing that value judgement as anything other than your own opinion. I prefer carbon over cognition. (Someone else may state that the nature of true life is bloody conflict, btw) Just because you see nothing else valuable or worthwhile doesn't mean that anyone would share this opinion, and it doesn't diminish the value judgements that others have made based upon what they see as vaulable or unique.
By the way, "All life that is not conscious is simply a series of chemical reactions that exhibit certain rare proporties." Consciousness is what then?
