RCC says making a woman a priest is as sinful as abusing a child.

That's a twisting of a news story if I ever heard one. Its weird how bizarrely desperately the media grabs at straws sometimes to try to make all Catholics evil or whatever.

Both sins receive the highest level of discipline, as they should. Do you want the Vatican to make up some super special ultra penalty for pedophiles only or what? One has added criminal charges attached to it so there you go. The Daily mail is a terrible publication even on the best of subjects.

This is sick, absolutely sick. Crimes should be weighted by the damage they do. The sexual abuse of a child causes horrible mind scarring (and some physical scarring) I've known many adults who were raped as a child. Some of them are still seriously fucked up from the experience (and they are older adults). It's horrible abuse that sticks with a person throughout their life and some people never come to terms with it. It's abusing someone over and over (sometimes) who can't defend themselves. Trapping them in a situation they think they can't get out of. Making them feel dirty, horrible, and worthless. The rage and isolation they must feel. I could go on about this but it would just make me mad. Now let's weigh the negative consequences of being ministered by a female or having a female as (some sort of) overseer in the church......I hear crickets chirping....can anyone think of the emotional and physical scars that can come with this? What about churches that allow women ministers (preachers, priests, rabbis, gurus, blah, blah)? What damage have they done? Who have they hurt? I hear crickets chirping again...
