I know where you're coming from. Mostly you'll get "oh you're just ignorant" or "you've never searched for god" or " you're scared". Personally, I can't be fucked with them anymore.
The world is too beautiful to ignore and my life is too short to waste on such crazy people.
Now I just reply with "whatever floats your boat" or "to each their own" and walk away. After coming back from Devon, I noticed how much I've missed. I've already considered religion many times over and over, looked at it from multiple point of views and have questioned my stance on the matter but no matter how equal and balanced I look at things, theists will STILL call me ignorant, it's because apparently I'm ignorant if I don't believe the same things they do, as if they've got it right some how. Just because they can easily believe in something doesn't make me ignorant of it for simply rejecting such ideas. They could be wrong (and they most likely are).
So yeah for me, for the most part, the debate on the existence of god is over. The matter is closed.
Good thing too, don't want to waste too much time on silly unsupported claims.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
