Man, even corporations, even business owners, will tell you that, no, corporations are not people; corporations do not have souls.
Corporate personhood is a useful accounting tool and it should be regarded as such.
When a business incorporates, it becomes a "person" for purposes of taxes and accounting. The reason this is a useful accounting tool is because then you can determine who owns what assets (the building, the equipment, the supplies, etc are all owned by this corporate person), a corporation can also take on liabilities (borrow money from the banks against said assets), and determine its profits (corporate income less corporate expenses) on which it pays taxes.
Traditionally, this "personhood" was recognized as an accounting technique, not as the literal creation of a being. Corporations, for example, have no right to vote in an election. They can only own assets, take on liabilities and pay taxes on their profits. This ruling is a deep perversion of the personhood concept.
Free speech should be free. You shouldn't be able to buy more speech than your fellow human beings. Therefore, my idea of banning political advertising doesn't conflict with free speech. It only conflicts with additional purchased speech.

It's so ironic that the original "Tea Party" was a rebellion against corporate influence while today's is an astroturf movement by corporations to solidify their power.
This thread with AT joining in only underscores the problem of our modern political discourse in America. The right wing in America has gone batshit insane. Meanwhile, its opposition has moved to the right to become the conservative party.
