Very true. A couple of years ago, one of my wife's friends (a very "devout" self-righteous, pompous christian) told her a story about how her high-school daughter was caught having sex with her boyfriend. The girl admitted that she had been having sex for several years, but "only" anal and oral sex, and so she was still a "virgin" as far as Jesus was concerned.
It's actually a common enough practice in Christian churches that it has its own name: "Saddlebacking."
