Virgins is not the suitable translation for "Hur" mentioned in Qur'an.
Hur is a plural of "Hawraa" which means a beautiful woman who has a wide eye with a very black irises.
Hur are virgins until they make love with their husbands in paradise, and after ending the relation, guess what?, the return virgins again. ( I don't know how and why, but this is written in Hadeeth)
I spent many years with Islamic Sufism. Sufists were not satisfied with this outward aspects of Paradise, so they reinterpret the Islamic texts in a vague way, not to be faced by the triviality and superficiality of religion.
So the word "Hur" , according to Sufists, has two meanings: the first is the apparent known one, and the second is a mystic one related to God manifestations and appearances.
