We do take responsibility for ourselves, the good and the bad, by refusing to pretend that our lives are directed by an invisible sky terrorist.
We accept that the evil men do is the evil of men. We also accept that the good men do is to our credit. We can be bad people for our own reasons, we can be good people, also, for our own reasons.
I argue that God is a being of evil under the assumption that the bible is factual. Of course, it is not and I do not actually believe my argument. You do believe in God, though, and you approve of the crimes said to be attributable to him. There is no evil god, but there is an evil death cult in his name spreading misery and stupidity.
There is no god to take responsibility for the crimes of his followers. The real criminals are the followers themselves, who spread their gospel of hatred and death and threaten people with eternal damnation if they don't accept it.
