Only if you are on a Christ Witch Hunt. Otherwise "The Jewish part of this" Set up context. God spoke this command to Moses/Arron who was the Cheif or first high Preist.

The descendants part is less so, but it opens two questions. How many people are his descendants today (assuming he existed) and, why?

The Decendants of Arron were the Levities or the Preists for the Jews. This law was meant for the Preistly Jews only. As regular Jews could not approach God anyway, Being a blemished levite put one in the same catagory as everyone else.

Why would he make this law, regardless of who it is applied to?

Again so the people could eventually establish 'unclean or blemished' souls, and seek attonement for themselves.

God made us with built-in flaws, and then trys to make us feel bad for them. Nice...

The non-self righteous would ask why would God do this, rather than assume he already knew.

No. He his teaching us to discriminate between the every day and what is set asiide for God.

So...god discriminated against external ugliness because he couldn't (read:didn't) explain what internal ugliness was? (As if they couldn't understand that, right...)

The fact that you have identified sin as 'internal uglyiness" means you do not understand it even in light of everything He has done to describe it. Putting this in perspective with all you take for granted, and still do not understand it, How were the Jews to understand this concept when Nothing like it had every been identified before?
