So you substitute yourself for God. You are doing the same thing as Christians do yourself. You condemn 'yourself' for making unhealthy choices. You are your own 'god'. Are you sad too then? It follows that you must be (read my post).
That's incredibly frustrating that you just dump the whole of the discussion. I can only conclude that you cannot justify anything you believe.
I thought I should reply to this one.
Quote:So you substitute yourself for God.Nope, just living for myself without a god.
Quote:You condemn 'yourself' for making unhealthy choices.I don't think for a moment that living a life without the belief in the existence of a god is at all unhealthy. Unless you care to tell how it is?
Quote: Are you sad too then? How does lack of belief in a god considered sad? I have never believed in a god, heaven, hell or angels. Never been part of a religion, and yet I'm very happy.
Quote:I can only conclude that you cannot justify anything you believe.Erm...lack of belief. Also atheists don't need to give a reason to not believe. You can just reject the god claim and go on about your life. Anyway, we all start off in life as non-believers. You have to be told about god from others and then it's down to you to believe it or not.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
