Why do christians think god communicates with warm fuzzy feelings instead of direct verbal speach?

I wouldn't take his protestations here all too seriously. He's doing the same thing in his "Avoiding questions" thread, making all sorts of whiny excuses for why he doesn't, or shouldn't, respond to this or that point or question of mine. I suspect it's merely a prelude to him taking a "principled stand" in which he refuses to answer me at all, presumably for cause. I suppose I should be flattered, watching somebody squirm so hard to escape my baleful gaze.

(On a Christian forum I used to frequent, there's a space in the user profile for you to put your occupation. Being disabled and retired, I simply put "Gotterdammerung." I suppose there's a grain of truth in that.)
