People will believe all sorts of stupid shit but mohammed is as unknown to early 6th century writers as jesus is to early first century writers.
Coincidence?
Well from what ive heard while briefly researching the subject is there were lots of people at the time promoting themselves as prophets and trying to start cults and i think it would be pretty difficult to try and find evidence that any of these specific people existed therefore it wouldnt surprise me that no records of jesus could be found he wouldnt have been considered important until after his death the same goes for muhammed.
Also there does seem to be evidence that tacitus wrote about jesus. And other sources writing about early christians. I think it would be pretty strange if the small christian cult started by somone pretending there was this man named jesus.
Like i said i find it easy to believe that mankind started to believe in gods based on their lack of knowledge about earthquakes, time and space and other natural occourances that could be seen as gods work.
But i find it difficult to believe that cults would start based on pretending a man existed who didnt exist. I dont see it as being outside the realms of possability i just find it unlikely.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.
