Amen (so to speak)! Americans collectively pay the most and get the least for our healthcare.
Any American who says otherwise hasn't been through what I have. My wife became critically ill a few years ago and nearly died. We're one of the "lucky" Americans who actually has health insurance. Consequently, her care was only ruinously expensive as opposed to unattainable. I mean literally ruinously expensive. Some necessary things weren't covered. We had to go deep in debt and liquidate our retirement accounts.

I feel for you. Most of my investments were in real estate which I always thought was a "safe" investment. Big mistake.
