RE: What things are bad in Islam?

Id also like to add that according to most muslims i dont know what is said in the quran or in hadith since i cant speak arabic, i only know what some muslims tell me is in the quran or the hadith. Wether the muslim is a terrorist trying to incite people to attack, or wether its a moderate muslim in the west trying to persuade non muslims islam is peaceful. They are both as untrustworth (or trustworthy depending on how you look at it) and they both contradict each other.
Therefore the best evidence i have of what is bad about islam is the acts commited by muslims in the name of islam.
Basically i dont want to spend half my lifetime learning arabic and reading a book from front to back and then learning what the books hidden meanings are from other muslim scholars in order to decide wether or not its a book i should live my life by, because by the time ive decided ill probably be on my death bed.
If i want to know about islam then what is wrong with judging a religion based on what it teaches in mosques and the hate which they preach on a regular basis?
