their laws are not taken from the quran directly ( muslims today say, that the quran is not enough, which is -btw- infidelity, for one to claim that the word of god is not perfect, yet muslims today (all of them) are doing it ).
muslims today, proudly abandon the quran and go to other sources, called "hadiths", like bukhari & muslim.
now those books are written by humans (just like the biblical revelations written by the saints), they are not valid.
inside those sources, you'll find out that the prophet marries a child, music is forbidden, people who have sex are to be stoned, gays are stoned to death, and so on.
the quran doesn't mention any of that. And quran is islam, not those other sources.
I'm a minority of muslims, that stand against those acts, which defy the quran. Yet muslims see me just as non-believer as you. even though I witness that god is one, & mohammad is his prophet..
Muslims today are bad bad bad, friend. The middle east is boiling because of them.. they are ruthless, has no mercy..
but let's not forget the west, which was even more brutal in the dark ages.. some brutalities which the muslims do today, are because of the western dominance over the middle east. Especially the crusades, which after the massacres which happened in them (because of the christian soldiers), muslims turned hellishly evil & brutal to be able to stop the beast-like knights of medieval europe.
However, Islamic countries have had a hard time catching up, though.
