1. Is there an organized group of atheists that has a global presence?

Ever tried herding cats?

2. For what reason do you go about and try to disprove the beliefs of the theists?
Only when they try to supplant hard scientific fact with their fairytales. Apart from that I don't give a flying fuck what they want to believe.

3. Isn't the belief/knowledge that there is without a doubt no God/gods also faith based? ( I don't just mean the Christian God, but the existence of higher beings in general, and please don't bring up the stupid flying spaghetti monster argument).

No, absence of belief in something for which there is no evidence is simple common sense. Do you believe in unicorns? Why not? Is non belief in unicorns faith based, or merely recognition of the fact that there is no good reason to believe in something for which there is no evidence.
