Shouldn't we be threatened? I for one think that it is not the job of the government to legislate morality. Not to name drop, but John S. Mill said it best: it is the role of government to safeguard individual freedom and liberty. 2 consenting adults should be allowed to marry, people have a right to habeas corpus, equal pay for equal work, etc.
