Also, if she was trying to kill herself for that long, she would have succeeded by now.

Not really. Her method of suicide is just really inefficient. She swallows pills. Then she calls everyone she knows and says she swallowed pills. Then somebody calls an ambulance and she goes to the hospital and has her stomach pumped. I don't think she can resist calling everybody because it's so dramatic.

The woman in question who swallows pills isn't trying to die, she's begging for attention.

She's addicted to the drama it entails.

It's a form of holding herself hostage so that everyone else must drop what they're doing and feed her addiction.

In relationships, it'd be considered a form of domestic abused -- to hold the emotions of another as a hostage in return for doing what she, the abuser, demands.

The only solution, unfortunately, is to not interact with them anymore.

They are not suicidal -- a suicidal person doesn't reveal usually their plan.

Suicidal people often appear happy and non-suicidal, right up until they suddenly jump off a bridge to the advert and terrible anguish of their loved ones.

The woman in question is mentally ill.

She needs help.
