Schizophrenics and other at-risk mental illness patients run the reasonable chance of inducing psychosis and other unwanted mental aberrations through use of psychedelics.

Cannabis is not "harmless" -- it's a psychedelic drug containing a blend of well over fifty different cannabinoids, some of which may induce panic/restlessness.

For example, a strain with a large ratio of delta-9 THC more often than not produces similar negative effects to that of Marinol.

Strains with larger concentrations of CBD/CBN often have bias towards muscle relaxants and general couch lock (ie calming).

To say cannabis is "harmless" is like saying Alcohol is harmless.

For most use cases, yes.

For a limited set of cases, involving differential consumption, mental state, set and setting, cannabis can be quite destructive or destabilizing.

Weed is not a wonder drug. Just a drug that is mostly safe in most cases.

Your point it would still be better if she was hooked on marijuana instead of those pills. It would do less damage to her.
