But to make a claim "no god" is different than "no that type of god". They are two different claims. i would have to side with carl on this one.
When people ask me I just say I don't believe in that type of god. It really ends there.
Yeah, that's what weirded me out a little! I thought you were a nonbeliever, but then I thought if that was true you must know that getting atheists to properly agree on things is like herding cats (I'm a writer and I couldn't even think of a better expression... )
I dunno, kinda hard to call atheism a religion when only some of us adhere to the definition you have of religious atheism.
Muslims say the same thing. "kind of hard to call us a religion when we all disagree with you". Yeah, so what. Oh wait, you gona do what to my butt ... Can I change my mind?
I only list the possible definition and see how people are interacting with each other. It seems we fit many parts of the definition that's all.
For me, I say, yep, we are a religion. It ends that debate quickly because it is quite meaningless to me i don't mind. the message is for them not me.
I ask them, "Now what is that evidence you use again for your god? "
when they ask "what is your evidence for "no god".
I say I am not making that claim.
I am claiming your god does not exists with the traits you are claiming.

And my house is now a "church", so no property taxes for me!
And all those billboards all over my town about abortion and "repent" are offensive to my religion! I demand sensitivity and that they be taken down!
And I demand that they "teach both sides" in their Sunday Schools!
This is ok.
Then we can talk about the laws we make.
1)Is there a law that you could use for exceptions of taxes?
2) can you put billboards up?
3) Do private schools have any say in what they do/don't have to teach?
although, if you do this, it kind of seals the deal doesn't it.
