May I just point out that the OP is more interested in debating his/her non-introduction and subsequent less-than-warm reception (which is atypical) than the topic he/she originally posted about?
If you answer my questions, I'll answer yours. Why are you only looking at individual morals vs. immoral acts perpetrated by religious organizations? Example: I'm sure most Catholics would answer your questionnaire with wonderful shows of humanity and morality, but that doesn't negate the atrocities the RCC has committed (child rape, covering up these crimes, the Inquisition, etc.). Ditto for other groups as well (not just picking on the Catholics), like the Mormons who only fairly recently have allowed black members. How is this issue going to be addressed in your research, or is it not going to be addressed at all? I don't really understand how one can look at the issue of religion and morality without addressing these kinds of things.
