You know Tib, sometimes the babies are really unwanted and remain unwanted after birth... sometimes, having a child can mean losing a job and any way of supporting both the mother and child.... sometimes, having a child means that the grandparents have to take monetary care of both the mother and the child, and sometimes, they're not very willing to do so.
Sometimes, the mother's life just becomes unbearable, if she haves that child.
And I think anyone should be allowed to judge their own lives and deal with the consequences of sex in their own way... within a reasonable time-frame.
I hear that, in the UK, you can abort almost up to birth. At some point (and I'm not going into that) the fetus does have to suffer when aborted.
Up to 12~15 weeks gestation, the fetus is noticeably a very underdeveloped or just a bunch of cells and an abortion is just chemically induced and feels much like a standard period.
So, up to this "age", it's not a big deal to abort. The fetus doesn't feel anything... I mean... a fly suffers much more when we kill it and I don't see anyone legislating against the killing of flies (yeah, flies have life too, so pro-life should cover them too! ).
Given that, I don't think people should be prohibited from aborting up to that stage when you can no longer chemically induce a period-like abortion.
Sex is a very pleasurable thing to do, so I can't blame people for doing it and wanting to solve a complication that arose from it... I think they should have some time to realize what they did and deal with it they prefer, with no legal problems attached.
