I don't have the academic ability or credentials to be able to declare whether or not this opinion is valid in light of the Qur'an or even how strong this opinion is amongst the scholars, but the only Muslim nation that carries out crucifixions is Saudi Arabia, there was a case of a pedophile who raped 5 kids, he was beheaded and then crucified. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_...342005.stm I am personally happy with that verdict and would like to see it implemented in Great Britain but unfortunately, the only people that agree with me are the far right such as the BNP, so it will never be implemented.(May 22, 2013 at 6:49 pm)ideologue08 Wrote: This man would certainly be executed without question, and possibly crucified.
You mean that metaphorically...right? Because, seriously....with stonings and amputations and beheadings already present...I think the last thing islam needs to add to it's repertoire is crucifixion.....
Of all the sorts of torture one might inflict as reprisal for a crime - there are some that stand out as having more to do with the people watching than the person being "punished" - crucifixion is pretty high on that list. Publicized beheadings, I think, qualify as well. Punishment, no, providing opportunity to make a political statement, yes.
