I accept that Jesus blackmailed all of humanity by offering everyone a choice between submission or eternal punishment, or at least, that's what it would be if any of it was actually real. Which is why, all I have to say to the Pope is that it is nice that he's officially rejecting the idea that we're a bunch of immoral, Satan-worshiping baby eaters.

Is not Jesus that blackmailed the humanity.
It is the caste of priests that came after Jesus that did this in order to control people mind and place themselves as intermediaries between them (the people) and God.
Jesus was following spirituality not religions.
In fact he was vehement against religions that is why the priests did their best to try to kill him.
