He wanted God's power and authority for himself. He has no issue with the power structure itself, just who is at the top of it. He wants creation to bend to His will, and not to have to yield to the will of God... So yeah if you take all of that away and look only at what Satan is doing and not why, I can see a bit of a David and Goliath going on here.Quote:Realistically at some point they knew their rebellion was hopeless, and yet chose literal hell over serving God for an eternity.
When you consider this in the context that God has a chaotic evil mindset, this is actually a heroic struggle. At some point, you have to ask yourself why a thinking being would make a choice like that. Chalking it up to pure spite just makes Lucifer look like a Captain Planet villain, who pollutes just to say 'fuck you' to everything green, and that's just not a realistic motive, but you accept without question. Your faith makes it a crime to examine Lucifer's story from a sympathetic angle. Satan is a villain in name only, while God is the one drowning and burning and smiting indiscriminately.
I'm no Satan worshiper because he's just as make-believe as the Bible's alleged protagonist, but an objective read of the Bible makes him look like the good guy locked in combat with a vast, gleefully malevolent evil which has convinced a great many people that the ultimate crime imaginable is to question his goodness.
But when you factor in motive, that would be like trying to over throw what you perceive to be an oppressive government to install a more oppressive government.

I do not understand what you are trying to say, get at or ask. Why not just skip to the punch line? Whatever your trying to entrap me to say will not be said if it has not already be said by me so just move on to your point or question.
Seriously? Entrapment? You evaded a question, which you are still evading. You asked "does the Atheist [sic] accept what Has [sic] been done for him?"
I asked "what has been done for 'the Atheist'?"
You quoted the Bible.
Usually atheists don't accept the Bible as anything but a collection of fairy tales, so why would we appreciate or accept anything it says? Why should we care? Especially if we are going to Heaven anyway... a place where, if the stories are true, is more like hell for most of us.
Why do I feel like I'm going around in circles? Oh! Because I am!
