As far as contradictions are concerned, 'we' are only responsiable for what we can comperhend.
Quote:I agree to good being a relative term (always is), but if there are terrible people who God supposedly hates, like the Sodomites,... And people who gossip, those who are quick to persecute and shed blood in the name of righteousness, and those who would harm a child. The list goes on to include acts that you might agree with and others that you might have thought to be benign.
Quote:then there must be "less terrible" people who God doesn't hate (as much) and consequentially doesn't smite by dropping fire from heaven, so some are better than others to Her, heck even us Atheists are still alive despite all the blasphemous things we keep spewing here.Maybe it because the things you say are not blasphemous as you think they are, or maybe it is because something or someone has been "smitted" for all of the blasphemous things you will ever say and do.
Quote:If I break all the ten commandments and climb up a mountain during a thunderstorm and scream "God is a cunt", how come God doesn't respond like he supposedly did against Sodom? Or was that just metaphorically speaking, cause it sure didn't sound like it.
If i were a betting man I would say that you were not smitted, because someone has been 'smote' in your place. This someone freely gave Himself up to be 'smote' on your behalf. Which leads to the ultimate sin, one that can not be forgiven. Some say that sin is ignoring the work/sacrifice that has been done on your behalf. I would tend to agree with this assessment.
