First and last month's rent? Deposits? If you ain't got it, you ain't got it. I suppose if you're moving to a dumpster or cardboard box you could do it for $50. :p
That being said, I'm gonna side with John V on this one - if you've got safety concerns, someone's gotta go, and if he won't, it's going to have to be you. That's the cold reality of it.
