If they are the kind of people who don't do rotten things just because god said not to, then they have far greater issues than just religion.
If god was proven, I wouldn't change anything in my life because he has demonstrated himself to be unworthy of worship of any kind. He does not interact in our lives and a world with god and a world without god are completely and utterly indistinguishable.
Well... I'm talking the masses here! Do you act like the majority of society? Or do you think you are an individual?
Case in point: during a famed fire several years ago that killed many people... seven walked out a visably open door at the back of a room, while 100's perished at the bottleneck of the front door.
Which group would you be in?
Now I don't know what a panic situation holds for me....but I don't think I would head for a 3x7 door with a whole room moving towards it!
And transversely...can we say the masses will act like us?
I say the masses will act in the worst or best way possible depending on what is evident before them.
