True here in east Tennessee, with collards and some kind of pork as the meat. Grits and cornbread can be included.

Most of my recent ancestors are from Tennessee starting with my father's great grandfather on my direct paternal lineage.

Most all of my ancestors from all over the southern states moved to East Texas shortly after the American Civil War.

I suppose because most of the South was burned to the ground whereas Texas was untouched. Like a fresh start in a sense.
