Actually, I was rather more interested in the implication that a belief in god or gods is separate from the supernatural, at least enough for you to make the distinction.
You can have faith and beliefs without having a belief in a god or gods. Most Westerners are hard-wired to accept that you can't have religion without God, but that's just because Western society is largely founded on Abrahamic faith (mixed in with pagan beliefs).
A good example in a modern context would be Star Wars before all the microorganism BS. There was no god in that saga, but there was a sense of spirituality, of cosmic forces.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.
