When Christ died on the cross He freeded us from the Law. Meaning we are no longer bound to a set of rules to find 'justification/righteousness' by. This mean not only are we not bound to a list of thou shalt not's nor does it mean we are bound to a list of thou shalts either. Christ's death left us with this one absolute, Love God with all of your being and love your neighbor as your self.
In this the the whole law is completely summed up. So how does that translate to no one specific interpertation of the bible?
The difference between keeping God's commands as a sign of love and keeping God's commands as a way to earn salvation or righteousness, is that in a love relationship one does not work a behave a certain way to earn salvation. We work or behave a certain way because the one we love with all of our being wants us to exhibit certain attributes.
For example: if you love your spouce with all that you can he/she like certain foods, but hated others, or wanted you all to themselves, would you only provide the foods they hated? Would you cheat on them regularly? What if it was your young son or daughter? Or would you do everything in your power to give them what they want and or need from you?
