Hopefully you aren't implying that atheist's cannot be pro-life. That would go against the whole "atheism is just a lack of belief" cliche.
Chad, atheists can be what/whoever they want.
It doesn't thus mean however that 'atheism = stance x". "I'm pro-life becuase I'm an atheist" is just nonsensical. "I'm pro-life becuase I don't understand the baggage that comes attached with that label" would be more apt.
There is no mandate issued or dogma written down that atheists have to do anything. That's the point, and also happens to be the divide between atheists and (most) theists who espouse a doctrinal religion.
