Just because someone can play a musical instrument does not make the individual particularly intelligent.

I don't believe that one at all. Look at Pat Robertson, Ann Coulter and Bryan Fischer. They make tons of money preaching their hateful propaganda on national television.
A majority of theists reside in the bible belt where they are rather poor, and republican to boot. Other than supporting the republican's stance on religion, it never made any sense to me that poor people would be republican due to the fact that republicans are not for the people so much as they are for their rich friends who fit into the one percentile bracket.
