Iran is notorious for shutting down every kind of descent and have not just shut down pages but also arrested and sentenced people who ran them.
The exile Iranian community is enormous and very well organised, and also the largest exile Iranian communities are in democratic countries such as France, Canada and the US where they can do this without fear of persecution.
Their descent into unreason is shown by their crackdown on dissent.
