Theres parts of this I agree with, but most I dont. Children do need more attention, because they havent gotten their creativity beaten out of them. They arent afraid of failure and most people in charge dont like this. They need workers and mindless bodies.
And I do think people need to ask what kids want, but its likely different for each kid. My mom has for most of my life asked what I thought about things. Whether it was moving, her boyfriend, culture, or entertainment.
She always wished her mom wouldve told her things, which is why my mom consults with me now (Im only 17).
But this probably depends on the maturity of the kid. Which is lacking in America.
Kids do need innocence protected though. Kids shouldnt have to work. They do need responsibility, but not get the thing that childhood is about, being carefree.
I do think kids deserve more respect. They still have creativity that we lack as we grow older. But not the responsibilities an adult has. And with that comes civil rights.
