The trouble with Facebook is that it rapidly gets out of control if you are not careful. One day I realized I had over 800 "friends" on Facebook. That is ridiculous. I spent the best part of a day unfriending 650 of them and then wrote a message that said "I just unfriended 650 people I didn't really know. If you are reading this and thinking - who is this guy? Please unfriend me as I obviously missed you."
Now I am much more careful with accepting friend requests and as a result I get very few messages popping up on my mobile or tablet telling me someone I don't know just had a lovely cup of tea.
Actually I later found an even better solution - Google +. This is social networking for people who don't really like other people. I hardly know anyone on there and never get bothered by messages.
